I. Participants and Eligibility
A. Each Contestant must complete, sign, and submit an official entry form along with the $400 entry fee per team to Fishing To End Hunger. Confirmations will be emailed. Boat number will be assigned when payment is received.
B. Contestants may pay with check, money order or credit card invoiced through Stripe.
C. Sponsorship funds (100% tax deductible) raised to support Kids Against Hunger-Brainerd Lakes Area must be submitted prior to or at registration.
D. Contestants over age 16 must possess a valid Minnesota fishing license.
E. Any contestant who is not in good physical or mental condition and cannot freely move about the boat without assistance must have a partner who can handle those necessary tasks.
F. This is a two-person per boat fishing tournament. Contestants under the age of 18 must have the signature of their parent/guardian on the entry form as well as their own.
G. Registration check-in will be on Friday, October 6th from 4-7pm & Saturday October 7th from 6-7am at Bar Harbor in Lake Shore.
H. Contestants must attend the Rules Meeting at Bar Harbor in Lake Shore on October 7th at 7:30 a.m.
A. All fish must be caught live and in a manner consistent to rules and regulations of Gull Lake Chain.
B. Contestants may enter five (5) walleyes with only 1 being over 20 inches.
C. No boat may come in contact with another boat during tournament hours.
D. Contestants may not pass or receive information, tackle, or bait from any other boat during tournament hours.
E. Contestants may not have another boat hold or reserve fishing locations.
F. Weigh-in headquarters will be Bar Harbor on Gull Lake.
G. In the event of a tie the prize will be split evenly.
III. Tournament Format
A. Tournament boundaries are the entire Gull Lake Chain. All pre-fishing must end at 4pm on Friday when check-in begins.
B. Launch at any ramp but take off is from Bar Harbor.
C. First flight will take off at 8:00 a.m. Second fight will take off at 8:30 a.m.
D. Teams must come to official weigh-in site by water. Weigh in slips must be signed by one partner to verify weight.
E. First flight will return at 4:00 p.m. Second flight will return at 4:30 p.m.
F. Tournament entries are based on a first received, first entered basis to determine boat number and flight. Boat number will be assigned when payment is received.
G. Scales will open at 9:00 a.m.
H. All fish weighed must be alive. Dead fish will not be weighed.
I. All boats must return to Bar Harbor on time or they will be penalized. If boats are in line they will be considered on time. 0-5 minutes late 25%. 5-10 minutes late 50%.
J. Artificial lures and live baits are allowed following the MN state regulations.
K. Each competitor must observe safe boat conduct, no-wake zones, local navigation rules, demonstrate courtesy and act in a sportsmanlike manner at all times.
L. Each contestant must wear a Coast Guard approved personal flotation device at all times when the combustion engine is operating above trolling speed.
M. There will be a mandatory boat inspection prior to tournament start. All teams are subject to inspection anytime during tournament hours.
N. No alcoholic beverages or non-prescription drugs are allowed in the boat at any time.
O. Tournament director will interpret rules according to the spirit and intent of the rule and his decision in all matters is final.
P. All prizes and trophies will be awarded from the weigh-in stage immediately upon completion of the tournament. Winners must be present to collect prizes or they will be forfeited.
